Tributes to Vice President Ding
Tributes were paid to Huawei Vice President Ding Yun (Ryan) who died suddenly of a suspected heart attack last week at the age of 53.

He joined Huawei in 1996 and served as President of Product Line, President of Global Solutions Sales Department, President of Global Marketing Department, and President of Products and Solutions.
At the time of his death, he was Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Chairman of the Corporate Leadership Management Department, Chairman of BG Enterprise and Chairman of BG Carrier.
Former EE CEO Olaf Swantee told his LinkedIn followers: “I knew Ryan from his work at Huawei, where he started in 1996 and was most recently Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
“We first met in early 2012 when we laid out plans to transform the UK’s mobile infrastructure by launching 4G. Right from the start, he inspired me with his incredible energy, technical savvy and project management skills.
“Without him, EE, Sunrise and T-Mobile would not have been able to establish their network leadership positions in the UK, Switzerland and the Netherlands. These are just a few examples where his personal influence has brought regarding the most ambitious transformations.
Howard Watson, BT Group Chief Technology Officer, added: “Really saddened to hear of Ryan’s untimely passing. I agree that without the amazing early relationship, the EE network wouldn’t be where it is today.
