Geneva: 400 delivery workers working with Uber Eats have not received their salaries
The employees of Chaskis, the main Geneva partner of the meal delivery application, did not receive their pay for the month of September.
This Monday, October 10, the employees of Chaskis, the largest of the four companies working with the Uber Eats application in Geneva, had still not received their September salaries. According to our information, this situation concerns all of the company’s employees, i.e. not only the more than 400 meal deliverers, but also their human resources colleagues. Uber Eats was warned a few days ago that a technical difficulty was affecting Chaskis’ banking access and that the company was doing everything possible to resolve the problem, hoping to pay salaries once more this week.
The strange reason for the quack
Chaskis would have informed all of its employees proactively and would have undertaken to compensate them for this delay. For their part, the deliverers contacted their Syndicom union, which then contacted the company. A session bringing together the three parties was held this Monday at the end of the followingnoon. David Roth, Syndicom’s central secretary, came away reassured. “The only person who had the banking access was no longer reachable, but today clearly the problem has been solved. Salaries will be paid tomorrow if all goes well. I am confident that the payment will take place.”
David Roth indicates that his union will organize a new session with the delivery men on Tuesday to discuss the consequences of this incident. Moreover, if by chance the blockage were to continue, Uber Eats would have declared itself ready, as far as possible, to financially support the couriers.
