“It’s extremely rare to have a majority on the left in the Council of State in Geneva”. As Thomas Wenger, president of the Geneva Socialist Party, reminds us in the preamble to the launch of the left’s campaign for the government, the four seats of the pink-green camp in government are anything but certain. This majority, obtained following the departure of the PLR Pierre Maudet, had only been achieved once in complete elections in the recent history of Geneva, in 2005.
