Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo hinted that the new model might be cheaperbut this rumor has not (yet) been supported by the Bloomberg reporter.
Compared to the model released in 2017, the Apple TV 4K 2021 brought a new remote control (which we can buy separately for the price of two Fire TV Stick 4K), an A12 chip unlocking 4K HDR at 60 fps and small bonuses (Wi-Fi 6, Thread compatibility, etc.).
According to Mark Gurman, a year, if not more, separates us from a much more significant evolution of the product. In a context where Apple’s services are now available on all living room platforms, Apple would floor on a brand new three-in-one device which would bring together Apple TV, HomePod and FaceTime camera for family videoconferences.
