Luxury cars are not cheap per se, but some manufacturers of super sports cars and luxury sedans offer their customers a wide range of expensive customization options and additional packages that do not always make sense, but as the saying goes: if you can, you can!
Rolls-Royce
The British car brand Rolls-Royce is the epitome of luxury transport on wheels. The options list reads like this Who’s who of voluptuousness. Above all, the legendary starry sky in the Rolls-Royce Wraith. The headliner consists of thousands of hand-embroidered LED lights, which can be customized if desired. Rolls-Royce keeps its prices secret, but it is said that the headliner will cost between 10,000 and 15,000 francs. The umbrellas hidden in the doors are also legendary. These cost just under 700 francs, umbrella heating included.
BMW i8
With the BMW i8 back in 2013, the automaker made a clear statement regarding the future of its electrified sports cars. The i8 didn’t have the most powerful powertrain, but it was unique. The electric flounder with an optional range extender was not a bargain at just under 150,000 francs. If you still had money left, you might order a tailor-made Louis Vuitton luggage set for around 20,000 francs.
Porsche 918 Spyder
If you are still looking for a rare Porsche for your collection, then you cannot avoid the 918 Spyder. Only 918 were built. If that’s still too much competition for you, you can refine your super sports car with a liquid metal paint finish for a proud CHF 25,000.
Mercedes-Maybach
It’s not just the British who know how to build luxury on four wheels, Mercedes-Maybach also manages to give its luxury limousines the ultimate touch in Germany. The current flagship, the S-Class from Mercedes-Maybach, costs just under 220,000 francs in the basic configuration – but there is a lot of luxury, fine materials and impeccable workmanship. But if you want to make your home on four wheels even more comfortable, you will quickly find what you are looking for in the list of options. There is a cooling compartment for 1500 francs and two folding tables for a mere 2400 francs. Alternatively, you might also put camping equipment in the trunk – there is enough space there.
Bentley Bentayga
With the Bentley Bentayga, the British car brand also wanted to play in the flourishing SUV market from 2016. Of course with the certain extras that belong to the Bentley lineup. In addition to luxurious materials and a first-class sound system, Bentley also offered the option of having a Breitling watch built into the dashboard for just under 180,000 francs. For comparison: The entry-level price of the Bentley Bentayga was just under 200,000 francs when it was introduced.
Bugatti Veyron
Right from the start, the Bugatti Veyron was not only designed to break records, but was also one of the most expensive and exclusive super sports cars. And as if that wasn’t enough, Bugatti optionally offered a unique carbon finish package for around CHF 300,000. In return, tons of carbon fiber were used in and on the vehicle, which made the luxury sports car, which cost two million francs, even lighter and more agile.
Ferrari LaFerrari
From day one, the Ferrari LaFerrari was an icon among supercars. The hot diva from Italy is actually exclusive enough with 499 copies, but if you had the wherewithal, you might make your super sports car even more exclusive.
