Hundreds of Ora iQ5 electric vehicles turned out to be unclaimed, and although as of early 2021 a new liftback cost in China from 130,000 yuan (the equivalent of $18,000), Great Wall did not sell electric vehicles.
The reasons are not known for certain: perhaps legal aspects prevented the sale, perhaps the auto giant did not dare to sell “used” electric vehicles, since even the demand for the new iQ5 was negligible. Due to meager sales, the iQ5 was discontinued in China back in 2020.
