“For Liberty!”. With that phrase, and adding to the gesture that several international actresses were making in support of the women of Iran, last Thursday Juana Viale decided to cut his hair and show it on your social networks. He did it to make visible the atrocities that the regime of that country is doing with the citizens who decided to fight for their rights, following the death of Mahsa Aminia 22-year-old woman of Kurdish origin who died on September 16, three days following being arrested by the morality police for breaking the strict female dress code.

In this context, the granddaughter of Mirtha Legrand received some unfortunate comments, which questioned her for frivolizing the subject and even marked that only a small lock had been cut. In this sense, one of those who defended her was Jorge Rial, who pointed out: “When I first saw it I said: ‘Did you take it as a Tik Tok challenge, as something frivolous?’ And then I saw how much criticism there is. But I also say: ‘Isn’t it because she’s Juanita?’ If another ‘more serious’ actress had cut her hair out there, they would say: ‘Look how well she sympathizes!’ I say it and out there I have a prejudiced look regarding Juanita, I must admit it, but I have to get it out of her… And I started with that look… and seeing it and thinking, I said: Stop! Laura Novoa did it and I didn’t see so many critics.”

Meanwhile, this Sunday the driver went for more and used her program in The thirteen to face criticism from haters. “The other day I joined a symbolism that is being made for the loss of the life of this 22-year-old girl in Iran and I want to explain why sometimes people think badly,” she began by expressing herself. And she elaborated: “No matter how much one cuts one’s hair, for much less a girl had her life taken, for not wearing the veil correctly. I did it in a super supportive way to make visible something that happens in a country where in the 70s it was totally Western: women wore skirts, bikinis… like here. Nowadays they don’t have the option to wear a coat above their knees, they can’t wear skinny jeans, they can’t decide whether to cut their hair or not. And this girl, the morality police caught her and ended up killing her with a blow to the head.”

“Sometimes terrible tragedies happen that are awakenings and, from this situation, Iranian women, totally denied any freedom of life choice, began to demonstrate. I did it to accompany and it caught my attention that the biggest criticism I had was from women, unfortunately. Every time they told me something, I told them: ‘If you thought what I cut was too much or too little, join the cause, let’s make it visible,’ he continued, in a serious tone. While, Mercedes Ninci y pamela davidwho were also present at the table, agreed with the thought of the driver.

The truth is that, to reinforce her commitment to the cause, Juana doubled her bet. “I’m going to do it once more, can I have a pair of scissors?”, he asked the production. And, minutes later, he kept his promise. “I am going to vindicate women once more, my hair grows, it does not bother me. It is a gesture, ”she expressed to the applause of everyone in the studio. For her part, Ninci also contributed her own: “Pass me the scissors and I’ll cut it too”. “I think it’s super important to support us,” concluded Juana.
