Because of a spelling mistake, an Egyptian student loses her life at the hands of her teacher

In the details, the 9-year-old student, Basmala Osama Ali Muhammad, died in intensive care at the University Emergency Hospital in Mansoura, northern Egypt, from a brain haemorrhage as a result of being beaten.

The teacher hit the girl, who was in the primary stage at Taranes Al Arab School, following asking her to write some words on the board, but she made a mistake in writing.

After that, he punished her by hitting her with a stick on her head, which led to her bleeding and concussion, and she was taken to the hospital and remained there until she breathed her last.

For his part, the girl’s father accused the teacher of killing his daughter, adding that his daughter, upon her return home, fell unconscious and was taken to Sinbillawain Central Hospital, and it was found that she had fallen into a coma following suffering a severe brain haemorrhage.

In turn, the Sinbillawain Investigation Department arrested the teacher, who said that he did not mean to injure the girl.

The governor of Dakahlia, Ayman Mukhtar, decided to suspend the teacher from work for a period of 3 months and refer him to an immediate investigation and to exclude the school director for his failure to take legal measures regarding the incident and not inform the responsible authorities.

It is noteworthy that during the first two days of the school year early last week, Egypt witnessed two painful incidents, the first of which was in the Al-Mu’tamidiyah School in Giza Governorate, which witnessed the collapse of part of the concrete fence of the school’s staircase, which resulted in the death of a female student and the injury of 15 others.

As for the second incident, it was in Sayed Al-Shuhada School in the same governorate, where the primary school student, Menna Faraj, was killed following falling from the third floor while trying to escape from her teacher, who decided to summon her guardian.
