The year 2022 is not over yet for Apple. After the September keynote, a new keynote should take place in October.
According to various sources, Apple should release a new keynote in October. In September, the Cupertino company presented its new products, namely the iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Series 8. In October 2022, the iPads and MacBooks will be in the spotlight.
Currently, information regarding the holding of this keynote is unclear. Some people advertise a recorded keynote around the end of October, others, including Mark Gurman, think that this event will not see the light of day.
The likely announcements menu
The menu will be consistent: there will be ads for iPads, MacBooks and new software. Let’s go through the probable products of this October keynote in detail:
iPad
The iPad would return for a tenth generation, with USB-C port (instead of Lightning on the last generation), Retina display with the same resolution as the last iPad and possibly an increase in screen size to 10 .9 inches diagonally, compared to 10.5 currently. The processor would be an A14 Bionic model.
In terms of design, some changes are to be expected on this new generation. In addition to the increase in screen size, there will be a chassis with sharper edges than for the current model. The home button remains in the game, however, and should continue to offer biometric unlocking by fingerprint.
iPad Pro
We expect two new versions of the iPad Pro. This new pro version would be equipped with the M2 chip, which would give it better performance. With these new versions of iPad Pro, battery life will get a boost. The new version of the tablet will also be entitled to new accessories and a MagSafe connection. Two versions might emerge:
- 11-inch iPad Pro with LCD screen
- 12.9-inch iPad Pro with miniLED technology
Mac M2
We should not attend a presentation of new designs, but simply to the integration of the Apple silicon M2 chip in existing models. Concretely, the Mac mini, but also on MacBook Pro 14 and MacBook Pro 16″ will ship the M2 chip.
The M2 Pro and M2 Max are expected to offer better performance, as the higher-tier chipset is said to offer up to 12 cores and 38 GPU cores. In comparison, the M1 Max featured a 10-core CPU and a 32-core CPU.
After this overview of potential new Apple products, let’s focus on the announcement of new software.
MacOS Ventura and iPadOS 16
On the software side, Apple should announce the deployment of the two new versions. Apple had announced the availability of MacOS Ventura and iPadOS 16 during the month of October. Currently both versions of this new software are available in beta version.

When will this keynote take place?
Currently, here are the different dates circulating.
- Week of October 17: between Monday 17 and Thursday 20
- Week of October 24: between Monday 24 and Thursday 27
Apple is not yet officially talking regarding a new keynote. Historically, we begin to have a precise idea of the announcement dates 15 days before the event.
