The Foundation is keen to motivate and empower young people through Introducing quality programs, focusing on the 12 national skills of the United Arab Emirates; Including: creativity, adaptation, problem solving, critical thinking and other national skills. While seeking to listen to their opinions and suggestions regarding the content and development of programs; To match their interests and passions. In addition to self-development, and developing skills that are in line with the developments of the times and the requirements of the labor market.

Khaled Al-Nakhi indicated that the programs were designed to be in harmony with the nation’s strategy and the citizen’s ambition. In cooperation with specialized local and global partners.

Al Nakhi said: “The Sharjah Foundation for Capacity Development falls under the umbrella of the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for the Industry of Leaders and Innovators, and constitutes the last stage of the education and development journey for the age group of 18 years and above. As for the mission and vision, it is unified among all Quarter Qarn institutions.” All of them aim to be a societal partner in building conscious and influential generations. Our mission is to achieve sustainable integration between these institutions through designing and implementing programs, activities and events that look forward to the future. The objectives of the Foundation are to attract young leaders, activate their role, develop partnerships between different sectors of society, facilitate the implementation of new ideas and projects, support creativity and leadership skills, and promote best practices globally.”

He continued: “The Foundation believes that self-awareness is the beginning of the journey of excellence for every ambitious person, so the Wathba program was launched as a dynamic mentoring journey designed specifically for program participants, to achieve their goals and discover their potential. The program extends throughout the year; Where participants go through 3 stages, starting with dialogue and evaluation, followed by a dynamic learning journey, and concluding with the review stage.”

Al-Nakhi stated that the Foundation is keen to develop the capabilities of young people, in unconventional ways, “and focus on contemporary skills that meet the requirements of the labor market and its culture and stimulate creativity and innovation. These skills are an integral part of the requirements for the success of institutions, organizations and companies alike. The programs offered by the institution fall under 6 tracks; These are: Arts, Entrepreneurship, Arts and Languages, Science and Technology, Sports and Life Skills.

He explained that the arts track includes theater and music as one of the most important integrative fields through which the Foundation seeks to educate and cultivate a love of performing arts and playing for the age group we target. The programs for the entrepreneurship track also focus on providing participants with the skills necessary to analyze challenges and propose appropriate solutions, in addition to skills related to financial culture and optimal investment of funds by setting well-thought-out goals and plans.

He pointed out that the Arts and Languages track seeks to develop the literary and critical sense of the participants, and to create a new culture that brings together the members of the Foundation and fans of the track under one roof, a goal that we hope to achieve through the literary circle “Riwaq”, and the science and technology track attracts young people who want to see the developments of the times. They seek to employ their skills and mental potential in the scientific and technical fields.

He continues: “The Sports Track aims to encourage participants to practice sports and benefit from workshops and programs that develop skills related to sports. This year we also targeted individuals who have made sports as a profession for them, not just as a hobby, and who we hope to attract in the 2022 Sports Leaders Program. Which will focus on the personal development of professional football players in particular. As for the life skills track, through which various basic skills are developed for individuals, such as: time management, communication, creativity and leadership. We will also introduce the Sustainability Program and the “Design and Build” program to educate young people and provide them with basic knowledge.

Integrated paths

Khaled Al-Nakhi stated that the Foundation focused on the integrative programs that bring together the four institutions in the “Quarter Qarn” to create leaders and innovators, “with which we complete the learning journey of the graduates of the Sharjah Youth Foundation and the Sajaya Girls of Sharjah. We started with the theater and performing arts track through the Performing Arts Program and the Quarter Qarn Program for Theater Leaders, in addition to the science and technology track within the “Rub` Qarn for Science and Technology” project through the “Century Programmer” programme.
