LAfter overcoming his injuries, leaving behind the legal rumors once morest him and having a Tour of Spain with good results, Miguel ngel López ends the season until the last days and now he will try it in a modality of cycling where he wants to surprise.
The boyacense runner will compete this Sunday in the Gravel World Championship, the first edition of a contest It will have several of the usual road racers who have additional skills for more hostile courses with terrains such as pav, sterrato (dirt and mud) and some asphalt.
The presence of ‘Superman’ was taken by surprise, considering that Colombian cyclists do not usually try in other modalities, but the López’s training sessions in Boyac are usually in ‘trails’ and carts in poor condition to climb the mountain and this has given him the tools to try.
The competition will be under a tour of 194 kilometers with 75% gravel (dirt) roads, some pav and also asphalt; be between Vicenza and Citadella with mountain stretches and bring together riders who usually ride the stages in the grand tours.
The rainbow jersey will be fought by men like Miguel ngel López, Peter Sagan, Greg Van Avermaet, Carlos Verona, Zdenek Stybar, Daniel Oss, Magnus Cort Nielsen, Davide Ballerini and Mathieu Van de Poel.
