This stuttering was the cause of the suffering of Farah Al-Qaisiah, who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Financial Management from Zayed University, and who found in him during childhood a distinct characteristic from the rest of her peers, and did not She sees it as a defect, so that the study stage in the primary stage passes easily and easily in an environment full of love and acceptance from others, but later she realized that this difference was not an advantage in the eyes of her middle school teacher.
Al-Qaisiya recalls these memories, and says, “When the middle school teacher mocked me in front of my colleagues, at a time when she was supposed to have a supportive role for me in the adolescence stage in which one needs support and psychological balance, I had to live in social isolation, and I fell into a state of lack of Balance, as I was in a critical transitional age, during which I needed psychological support, but this isolation quickly turned into confidence and strength when I entered the university, where I decided to reconcile and accept my stutter, and I faced fear by admitting that I stuttered in speech, and I looked at it as another dialect. . “The beginning was difficult and full of challenges, but with patience and confidence I was able to overcome my fears, and received widespread encouragement, and I began working to break the barrier of fear of erection,” Al-Qaisiyah said.
Initiative and challenge
Al-Qaisiya succeeded in her life and made a positive path with a loving family who understood and stood by her at all stages, and from here the idea of founding the “Stammer Group in the Emirates” initiative began, and regarding that, she says, “The idea of establishing the initiative came through my own experience with stuttering and the challenges I face when I speak, I was curious to get to know other people who stutter, to shed light on the lives of stutterers in the country, and to learn regarding inspiring stories from around the world.” She added, “In 2013, this initiative was launched to provide stutterers with the opportunity to engage in dialogue and learn regarding each other’s experiences, while promoting awareness in the community, and since the most difficult difficulties faced by stuttering people are psychological matters, we chose to face these challenges, with the aim of raising awareness and helping these people, To realize that they are not alone in dealing with these concerns.”
Abu Dhabi Award
Farah Al-Qaisiyah was able to be among 9 distinguished personalities who presented great and great works to the Abu Dhabi community, so she won the “Abu Dhabi Medal” award within the Abu Dhabi Award 2017, which represents the highest civilian honor in the Emirates for personalities who had interests that benefited the community, as her works contributed to the restoration of the community. Hope for those with stuttering disorder.
About this, she says, “I felt happy in my heart by receiving this award, as it is the biggest honor of my life, and it is enough that I got it in the (Year of Zayed), the year of our celebration of the founding leader, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, on the occasion of The centenary of his birth, highlighting his role in establishing and building the UAE, as well as his local and international achievements.
Al-Qaisiyah added: “The award represents the beginning of the path of success and excellence to achieve more initiatives that focus on the issue of stuttering.
Al-Qaisiyah indicated that the person is instinctively loving to do good, and the Abu Dhabi Award is the best way to encourage community members to continue to do good, and to devote efforts to community service.
