Tobing’s postformer member of the band Kotak, speak up regarding the old band. He claims to never get his rights as a musician and songwriter. The rights in question are the performance rights of the songs he created and performed by Box on stage.
Not only that, Posan Tobing admitted that he was annoyed and hurt by the statements of Tantri, Chua, and Cella regarding the distribution of payments. He referred to a YouTube video in which the three members of the Box stated that they no longer wanted to find a new drummer to replace Posan Tobing, because they preferred to split the money from the three gigs.
“You can say it like that, no one forbids it, because it should be divided by three, but before dividing by three, people’s rights are set aside first,” said Posan Tobing when interviewed at Studio Trans TV recently.
Posan Tobing said that he had a hand in the creation of Kotak’s popular songs, such as, Slowly, Always Love, Still Love, Leave Only, Relatives of Kotak, to Cinta Don’t Go.
These songs are often performed by Kotak during gigs.
“Don’t forget, you go to concerts everywhere, you bring my creations there,” said Posan Tobing.
“It’s not appropriate for you to speak for three before you give the rights of the person involved in the song,” he continued.
The box also reacted to Posan Tobing’s statement. In a video uploaded to TikTok, Tantri, Chua, and Cella clarified the allegations made by Posan Tobing.
There are several things that Box addresses in that statement. One of them is the issue of the wrong billing address. According to Kotak, it is not appropriate for Posan to charge them for the distribution of royalties.
In addition, Cella explained regarding the percentage distribution of royalties for several songs claimed by Posan Tobing. In his explanation, Cella explained that the royalties from the fixed box were divided by four, including the rights to posts.
Cella also elaborated on her explanation. Regarding several songs which are 100 percent of Posan Tobing’s creations, they have not performed them on stage since Posan resigned.
