Nicole Glaus says goodbye to the broadcaster following four years at “SRF Meteo”. She has accepted a new job. The search for a successor has already begun.
For four years, the qualified climate scientist Nicole Glaus explained the weather conditions in Switzerland to the “Meteo” viewers.
Now the 33-year-old has decided to leave Swiss television. The native of Bern has accepted a new position and is becoming the environmental officer at the Swiss Hang Gliding Association.
Nicole Glaus on her move: “They were exciting and instructive years at SRF. At ‹SRF Meteo› I was able to live out my fascination for weather and media. But now I’m looking forward to my new professional challenge.»
It is not yet clear who will succeed Nicole Glaus in the “Meteo” team. The vacancy as a media meteorologist is advertised.
The native of Bern has a master’s degree in climate science
Glaus studied at the University of Bern at the Oeschger Center for Climate Change Research and graduated with a master’s degree in climate science.
She gained her first media experience at Radio Sunshine and “20 Minuten”. She joined SRF in spring 2015 as part of an internship at the “Rundschau” and “10 vor 10”. She then worked in the editorial department of the news magazine parallel to her studies.
After completing her studies, she switched to “SRF Meteo” in autumn 2018, where she trained to become a practicing meteorologist and then worked as a forecaster for the SRF radio and online channels and as a presenter for the “Meteo” program .
In addition, she acquired her license to become a paraglider pilot. The 33-year-old from Bern is now turning this hobby into her new job.
