Qatar and the organization of the 2022 World Cup have been the subject of much criticism for several months. In particular concerning the reception of foreign supporters and the very strict rules to be respected for them. Thus, a guide to good conduct, entitled “Qatar welcomes you” has been circulating for several days on social networks. But for the organizers, this document is a fake and would come from an unofficial source. It therefore has no legal value and supporters should not take it into account.
“The ‘Qatar Welcomes You’ document circulating on social media does not come from an official source and contains incorrect factual information”warned the organizers in a press release relayed by the media The Peninsula Qatar. “We strongly urge fans and visitors to rely only on official tournament organizer sources for travel advice for this year’s FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.”
If the leaked document is therefore not the right one, the Supreme Committee will soon publish an official document which will serve as a basis for travelers wishing to attend one or more meetings of the next World Cup. “The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, the 2022 World Cup and FIFA will shortly be releasing a comprehensive fan guide that disputes much of the information released”say the authorities.
