The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell more than 100 points on Wednesday following the US release of non-farm payrolls.

At 7:42 p.m. Thai time, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 172 points or 0.57% to 29,810 points.

The US Department of Labor said Non-farm payrolls increased by 263,000 in September. That was in line with analysts’ estimates of 250,000 jobs and slowing from 315,000 in August.

The unemployment rate fell to 3.5% from 3.7 percent in August.

Investors view that Although the number of such employment slowed from August. But the unemployment rate dropped to 3.5% in September is an indication of strength in the US labor market. And will be a factor supporting the US Federal Reserve (Fed) to accelerate further interest rate hikes.

The market was also pressured as US Treasury yields jumped as soon as the employment report was released.
