Steam Deck: the announcement everyone’s been waiting for is here, and it comes with a surprise…

News hardware Steam Deck: the announcement everyone’s been waiting for is here, and it comes with a surprise…

We had to be patient, a lot of patience even… Because Valve has just announced excellent news for those who do not yet have a Steam Deck. And since the company likes to do things right, this announcement also comes with a little bonus surprise.

A little over three months ago, Valve announced increased Steam Deck production, a move that has since allowed it to double weekly shipments of its portable console. Today (or rather last night) the American company makes access to its video game console even easier by allowing direct online purchasethat is to say without reservation.

The news, which will be very well received (no doubt regarding it) by all the people who have been wanting to buy the device for a while now, comes with another novelty. Because yes, removing the pre-order process for the Steam Deck also opens the door to purchasing the all-new docking station, also known as Dock, without reservation.

BIG NEWS today!

✨ Steam Deck is now available without reservation! Order one, we’ll ship it to you: http://steamdeck.com

????The docking station is also available! Connect to peripherals and monitors in style: http://steamdeck.com/dock

???? Plus, lots of new software features:

No need to reserve your Steam Deck to enjoy it

If you want to buy your Steam Deck right now, just go to the official page console and sign in with your Steam account. The next step, as you can see in the screenshot below, will be to select the version you want to purchase.

You can see and you may even know it already, but the versions are similar in almost every way. The only real difference is storage. You can also find all the details in our test, but it does not matter to us to remind you everything here. So we have 3 versions:

  • A 64 GB version offered at a price of €419
  • A 256 GB version offered at a price of €549
  • A 512 GB version offered at a price of €679

It should also be noted that all models have a slot for a microSD card. Regarding the pure and hard order, following filling in the payment and shipping information and following confirming the purchase, you will logically have to wait between one and two weeks to receive your Steam Deck at homeand that’s pretty cool!

A brand new Dock for Valve’s Steam Deck

As you can see in the tweet above, the dock is designed so you can use the Steam Deck on a TV. But the one that is also called by the name of Dock, does not have just this advantage. Because yes, this little gadget also offers the possibility of recharging the console and connecting different peripherals to it.

In all, this docking station includes 3 USB-A 3.1 Gen1 ports, an Ethernet port, a DisplayPort 1.4 as well as an HDMI 2.0 port. Also note that this Dock has a power-only USB-C port (a 1.5 meter cable is provided in the package). If you want to get this docking station, you’ll also need to order from the same website as the Steam Deck (a little further down the page). Its price is 99€ and it too will arrive within one to two weeks following the order is placed.

If you are discerning, you will no doubt have noticed that Valve also offers new features and several improvements on its Steam Deck (see video tweet). An additional step before announcing a brand new model or a 2.0 version? The question remains, but one thing is certain, with this announcement, Valve has made a lot of people happy.
