Producer Robin von der Leyen (51) and editor-in-chief Daniela Boehm (51) have reason enough to celebrate: 15 years of “Dahoam is Dahoam”! 15 years of series success on BR Fernsehen – with nationwide 800,000 viewers per episode.
“Our baby is now a teenager and it’s exciting every day,” says a happy Robin von der Leyen behind the scenes during the BILD visit.

It’s raining. Outside on the village square (the outdoor shooting area is 8000 square meters) there is a red and gold decorated three meter high Christmas tree. And the windows of the Brunnenwirt are also adorned with glittering Advent decorations. Is it already Christmas?
From the living room to the kitchen: 38 different backdrop sets are integrated into a total of three recording studios
Daniela Boehm laughs and explains: “Yes, we already shot the episodes for Christmas and New Year’s Eve here yesterday.”

►A team of 40 (!) screenwriters works on the stories that inspire the hearts of the fans: Five episodes are produced four days a week. Here, in the fictional Lansing, the film is shot and lived in a funny, relaxed and loving way.
The secret recipe of the successful Heimat spectacle? “Familial and warm with tradition, a bit of drama, plus something amusing and light. That’s the mix,” says editor-in-chief Daniela Boehm (BR Fernsehen), who has been there from day 1.

THE WHOLE NUMBERS: If you watched all the episodes in a row, that would be 63 days and three hours. And 19 million, 400,000 words added up throughout the scripts. That’s what the makers of “Dahoam is Dahoam” have now calculated.

The current anniversary week celebrates its climax on Saturday, October 8th. After a two-year Corona break, the big family day is taking place once more on the shooting site in Dachau. Up to 10,000 spectators are expected when the weather is nice.
“DAHOAM IS DAHOAM” IN NUMBERS
★ regarding 1000 actors have participated since 2007
★ The team consists of 30 employees (cast, editing, production, technology, make-up, equipment, etc.)
★ 5000 hours of raw footage shot since 2007
★ 10 directors direct the series (usually one person directs a block of five consecutive episodes)
★ The script for one episode comprises 60 screenplay pages. A total of around 182,000 script pages would come together if all the episodes since 2007 were added up.
★ There are around 10,000 costumes in stock (dirndls, sports outfits, pajamas, etc.)
★ The outdoor shooting area is 8000 square meters, plus three studios with a total of 1400 square meters for the interior shots (incl. 38 scenery sets: living rooms, pharmacy, butcher’s shop, etc.)
★ 9 weddings and one vows, 8 divorces and 5 funerals have occurred in 15 years of “Dahoam is Dahoam”.
