A man stabbed in Centre-Sud

A 25-year-old man was stabbed at the intersection of Sainte-Catherine and Beaudry streets on Thursday evening.

The assault took place around 7 p.m. A man of regarding 25 years old was shot in the upper body, according to the public relations officer for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM), Caroline Chèvrefils.

Arrived on the scene, the SPVM officers did not initially locate the victim.

After a few minutes of searching, they found the injured man near Frontenac and Rouen streets. He was conscious and was transported to a hospital. There would be no danger to his life, said the publicist.

According to initial information, he was accompanied by a woman and was walking on Sainte-Catherine Street at the time of the incident. A conflict would have degenerated with three suspects, two men and a woman.

The scene was protected for investigators and forensic identification technicians to try to understand the circumstances of this attack, the canine unit was requested on the scene, witnesses were met and the investigation was underway Thursday evening.
