In line with the MagSafe charger launched by the iPhone 12 series at the end of 2020, Apple recently launched a new version of the firmware number 10M1821 for this purpose. The firmware number is not displayed in the iPhone’s settings page, but version 255.0.0.0. The firmware number of the MagSafe charger on the pair is 10M229, and the version displayed is 247.0.0.0.
The website MacRumors said that this is the third firmware update Apple has released for the MagSafe charger. The update is carried out through OTA. Apple has not provided any instructions, so it is impossible to know whether the problem has been fixed or new features have been added. MacRumors estimates that the firmware update may be for new products recently launched, including four iPhone 14 phones and AirPods Pro 2 wireless earphones.
There is no way to manually upgrade the firmware of the MagSafe charger. As long as it is connected to an Apple device, it will be automatically updated. After that, users can know whether the firmware has been upgraded by simply going to the iPhone’s settings page.
