Column of smoke visible from afar: Empty warehouse at Berlin’s Müggelsee burned down

A fire broke out in a vacant building on Thursday followingnoon at Müggelsee in Berlin.

As the fire brigade announced when asked by rbb, an approximately 1,000 square meter warehouse on Müggelseedamm in the Friedrichshagen district burned. The building was completely on fire, parts of the roof collapsed. According to the information, no human life was in danger.

The fire brigade was deployed with around 60 forces. The fire was under control by late followingnoon. The cause of the fire is so far unclear. The Müggelseedamm was partially closed due to the fire brigade operation.

The column of smoke was visible from afar over the city. Firefighters called on residents to keep windows and doors closed.
