The strike continues in the refineries of TotalEnergies

The strike which began on Tuesday in the refineries of the TotalEnergies group is continuing on Thursday, according to a union source.

The CGT union of Upstream Petroleum-Global Services-Holding of the TotalEnergies group indicated that four of the five French refineries operated by the group are shut down this Thursday and that only the Donges refinery, in Loire-Atlantique, is not is not on strike.

On the third day of the strike, the objectives of the employees of the TotalEnergies refineries remain unchanged, in particular the revaluation of their wages up to 10%, the “thaw of hiring” in France and the creation of a “massive plan of investments” .

As a result of this strike and the drop in fuel prices at TotalEnergies service stations, in particular a discount at the pump of 20 euro cents per litre, queues have been observed since Wednesday and have increased , this Thursday, in a large number of these service stations.

During a press conference held on Wednesday, at the end of the Council of Ministers, Olivier Véran, the government spokesperson, had indicated that 12% of service stations in France “are encountering difficulties on at least one type of fuel, with variability since in the Hauts-de-France region, we reach more than 30% of stations that encounter difficulties”.

Following the massive influx of motorists to service stations, the prefects of Nord, Pas-de-Calais and Somme have banned the sale of fuel in jerry cans.

In addition, the Nord prefecture announced on Wednesday that strategic stocks have been released in order to resupply the service stations of the department, as well as the establishment of priority access to fuel for medical transport and healthcare professionals. health.
