The socio-cultural and sports infrastructure of the ocher city has just been reinforced with the inauguration on Wednesday of several structures aimed at the socio-economic integration of the targeted categories. These socio-cultural projects are part of the ambitious program “Marrakesh, city of renewal” launched in 2014 by HM King Mohammed VI.
Inaugurated in the presence of the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, the Wali of the Marrakech-Safi region, governor of the prefecture of Marrakech, Karim Kassi-Lahlou, the president of the council of the region , Samir Goudar and the president of the municipal council of Marrakech, Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, these socio-cultural projects are part of the ambitious program “Marrakech, city of renewal” launched in 2014 by HM King Mohammed VI.
At the level of the old medina, Bensaid and the delegation accompanying him, proceeded to the inauguration of a Youth Center in the Kbour Chou district carried out with a budget of 11.9 million DH (MDH), financed by the Housing and Urban Integration Solidarity Fund up to 9 MDH, the youth sector (1 MDH) and the National Initiative for Human Development (1.94 MDH). Spread over an overall area of 905.58 m2, this socio-cultural structure targets children and young people through cultural and educational activities in the fields of theatre, communication, media, music, visual arts and education on citizenship values. This youth center includes a multifunctional room, a room dedicated to activities, a library and a reading room, another dedicated to training, two rooms for workshops, a recording studio, a performance room and another for computing.

The second project inaugurated concerns a preschool teaching space in the Koudia district (Guéliz district), carried out at a total cost of 4.3 MDH, financed by the Housing Solidarity and Urban Integration Fund to the tune of 3, 3 MDH, and the INDH (1 MDH). This structure also provides a space dedicated to the training of women in difficult situations in the trades of modern and traditional sewing, hairdressing and aesthetics, traditional and modern gastronomy, pastry and IT. With a capacity of 200 women and young girls, the new center will also provide the beneficiaries with literacy classes.
At the level of the same district, Bensaid and the delegation accompanying him, proceeded to the inauguration of a Youth House, carried out for a budget envelope of 13.74 MDH. Spread over 424.34 m2, this structure, which is a space open to associations to practice their socio-cultural activities, will allow young people to benefit from programs of the Youth Department.
The fourth inauguration relates to a women’s education and training center in the Hay Hassani district (Menara district), carried out at a total cost of 6.75 MDH financed by the INDH to the tune of 6.25 MDH and the youth sector (0.25 MDH). Spread over 994 m2, this social structure is intended for the training of women in difficult situations, their empowerment and economic integration and the development of cognitive and psychomotor skills of children.

Subsequently, Bensaid and the delegation accompanying him, proceeded to the inauguration of several socio-cultural structures at the level of the Citizen’s Pole in the M’Hamid district, including a multifunction room, a library, a music conservatory, a full theater air and a club dedicated to the elderly. This pole, it is recalled, aims to guarantee balanced, integrated and sustainable development and urban integration through the creation of socio-cultural infrastructures and leisure spaces, the promotion of skills and the opening up of marginalized neighborhoods. Therefollowing, Bensaid and the delegation accompanying him, proceeded to the launch of the development works of the sports forest in Asekjour.
