A construction machine ran into a trade unionist from the CGSP Cheminots on Wednesday morning to force the picket set up at one of the entrances to the SNCB workshop in Schaerbeek, the union said. He called the police to file a complaint. The incident took place at the entrance to the workshop located on the side of the avenue de Vilvorde in Schaerbeek. Trade unionists had set up a picket there as part of the action on the rail and were distributing leaflets there when the driver of the construction vehicle forced the dam, according to the CGSP Cheminots.
“The machine ran into a union delegate who managed to avoid it, but he was still hit in the foot,” explains national secretary Filip Peers. “We asked the police to come to file a complaint.”
