The risk, if you do not adapt your monthly installments in variable contract, is to face a significant regularization at the time of the final statement. And the longer you delay adapting your installments, the greater the amount of these will be to compensate for the increase in energy.
Example: your annual statement is scheduled for next June. By adapting your deposit upwards today, your supplier will “smooth” the increase in your annual invoice over the nine months of installments that you have yet to pay. If, on the other hand, your annual bill is scheduled for December, you may already see your down payment explode at the present time because your supplier will distribute the increase in your annual bill over the next two months.
