Apple launches firmware update for MagSafe chargers

Apple launches new firmware for the Magsafe chargers. The new firmware has the version number 10M1821 and replaces the firmware 10M229. Unfortunately, Apple neglected to provide release notes that clarify the differences between the two firmware versions.

If you want to know what firmware your own Magsafe charger has, you can look in the settings app. As Macrumors reported, the app shows a different version number – it doesn’t match the firmware number. The new version is called 255.0.0.0 and the firmware was reported as 247.0.0.0.

Apple has already provided two firmware updates since the release of the MagSafe charger in fall 2020. So the current firmware is the third version.

It is conceivable that Apple has made improvements in the firmware for the new devices such as the iPhone 14 or the AirPods Pro 2.

Incidentally, users cannot determine for themselves when the firmware updates for the MagSafe chargers are installed. It is only important that the devices are connected to an Apple device and are supplied with power.

Do you use MagSafe to charge your Apple devices, or do you avoid this charging option? Feel free to write the answer in the form fields for the comments below this message, we are very excited.
