In 1995, Gerhard Karner was a long way from the Ministry of the Interior: the Lower Austrian was studying business administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and his thesis dealt with the “spoiled for choice”. Specifically with “Decision-making and decision-making behavior when choosing the special business administration courses at the Vienna University of Economics and Business”. 27 years later, this thesis might become a topic for Karner once more, albeit in an unpleasant way.
