The woman tried to commit suicide on the railway; The loco pilot saved the train by slowing it down

Bengaluru: A woman who tried to commit suicide on a railway track was saved by using the emergency brake of the train. The incident took place on the Baiyappanahalli loop line last morning.

The woman tried to commit suicide in front of the train which was going from Bengaluru to Kolar. Loco pilot Khalid Ahmed saw the woman and immediately stopped the train using emergency brakes. He then went to the woman and tried to comfort her but might not. The woman started walking once more in the middle of the railway track saying that she would commit suicide. The loco pilot informed the Byyappanahalli station master.

The stationmaster and staff reached the spot and took the woman to the railway station. R.P.F. The officers released the woman with her family following counseling them.
