The GeForce RTX 3060 video card has become the most popular on the Steam platform – in September its share was 7.52%, follows from a fresh report Steam Hardware Survey. However, there is one important nuance – we are talking regarding the combined performance of the mobile and desktop versions of the video card. Whereas individually they are only in 5th and 6th places in terms of popularity.
The absolute leader in terms of popularity on the platform is still the desktop GeForce GTX 1060 with 6.94% of users. In second place is the GeForce GTX 1650 with 6.32% of users, and in third is the GeForce RTX 2060 with 5.19% of users. The mobile version of the GeForce RTX 3060 has a 4% share, while the desktop version has a 3.52%. In general, NVIDIA video cards are used by 76.77% of Steam users, another 14.41% are AMD solutions, and Intel is content with a share of 8.61%.
The share of users of the Windows 11 operating system has grown over the past month to 24.84%. Windows 10 is still the most popular operating system on Steam, but has lost 0.57 percentage points over the past month. Now its share is 68.49%.
As for processors, six-core models remain the most popular among Steam users. The share of their owners is 33.54% of the total. Monthly growth – 0.50 percentage points. The share of owners of eight-core processors also increased, by 0.22 p.p. and now it is 19.19%.
The share of owners of the virtual reality headset Oculus Quest 2 on the Steam platform collapsed by 7.86 p.p. over the past month. However, this device is still the most popular in its category. The share of its owners is 41.39%. In second place is the Valve Index with 17.21% of users, and in third place is the Oculus Rift S with a share of 13.94%.
