Despite the decline initiated a month ago, diesel and gasoline prices rose sharply in the last week of September.

Yet kept at relatively low prices thanks to government measures, the prices of the main fuels started to rise once more in the last week of September.

According to official figures released by the website of the Ministry of Ecological Transition, the prices of diesel and gasoline rose by around 3.6 cents for the former and 3.1 cents per liter for the latter. Over the period from September 23 to 30, the average price of diesel therefore reached €1.6956/L. The price of the SP95-E10 increases to €1.5185/L.

To see more clearly, here is the evolution of fuel prices since January 2022.

This is the first time since August that prices have increased. Since September, motorists have indeed benefited from the tariff shield and the rebate from TotalEnergies. Discounts that lead to a crush at the stations of the French oil group, taken by storm for several days.
