Women’s Super League: “the Servette Chênois team is great, the state of mind too”, rejoices Sandrine Mauron – rts.ch

At 25, Sandrine Mauron has chosen to return to play in Switzerland following three years in Frankfurt. The former Zurich player, trained in Grandson and Yverdon, now flourishes in the jersey of Servette Chênois. The smiling international with Friborg origins confided in RTSsport at the Fontenette stadium in Carouge. She notably returned to the good start to the season for Eric Sévérac’s team.

RTSsport: What motivated the choice to return to Switzerland and sign for Servette Chênois?

SANDRINE MAURON: Have lots of game time. Be close to family. I wanted to experience this return to Switzerland and feel good. It really is and I’m lucky to have a good start to the season.

RTSsport: Your installation, your welcome within the team… did everything go well?

SANDRINE MAURON: Yes, great. After the Euro, we left with Servette in camp [ndlr: de préparation] in Crans Montana. It was a great time for integration. The team is great, the state of mind too. The move went well too, I regained my bearings.

Football: We want to win every match (Sandrine Mauron, Servette FC Chênois) / RTS Sport / 4 min. / today at 08:07

RTSsport: The start of the championship smiles on the SFCCF with as many victories as matches [5 sur 5]. What is the secret of this success?

SANDRINE MAURON: I would say we have a group where we need everyone. There are automatisms yet to be found. But with the system in place [playoffs], we need to find ourselves, to start building this team during the 1st round and it is the case. We will continue with the desire to win all the matches. In any case, the main thing will be the playoffs next year.

RTSsport: You are not necessarily a regular goalscorer, but you scored in your third match with Servette Chênois [en comptant les deux matches en qualifications pour la Ligue des champions] at the start of the championship. How did you experience it?

SANDRINE MAURON: It was a pleasure. I try to get my teammates to score and to score myself if I have the chance. This first goal was once morest Yverdon, a bit like my training club. Hopefully this will continue.
