The firefighters were called this Saturday evening around 7:10 p.m., for a mattress fire on the public road in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, place de la Minoterie, in front of the premises of MolenGeek, informs us Walter Derieuw, spokesperson for the Brussels firefighters. This fire caused damage (broken windows and smoke) in a hairdressing salon on the ground floor. The premises of MolenGeek are only very slightly impacted, the fire having taken place outside.
Ibrahim Ouassari, co-founder of this non-profit association which has been helping young people to learn how to train in new technologies since 2015, testifies. He had gone to get some sushi when the fire broke out. “I was called and told there was a fire in front of our premises. I had spent the day there working and had just been away for a few minutes to buy something to eat. eat. I managed to empty a fire extinguisher before the firefighters arrived.”
Ibrahim Ouassari filmed the intervention of the firefighters and posted his video on Twitter.
