Acer enters the graphics card market

Surprise surprise, Acer enters the graphics card market via Intel and his new GPU Arc A770 which will be on the market as of October 12. Thus, the famous brand presents its first card under its range Predator with the Acer Arc A770 Predator BiFrost. On the other hand, we do not yet know if the company will make its cards available on the DIY market or if they will only be installed in prebuilt Predator PCs. Likewise, it is not known if the brand will only make Intel GPUs or if we will also see Acer cards with NVIDIA or AMD GPUs later.

Acer launches its first dedicated graphics card with the Intel Arc

Visually, the company seems to have designed its own cooling system. Here we have a mix between a turbine type fan in the center of the fairing with a larger RGB fan on the end.

From what little we see in the only photo we have, the cooling system will also use four heat pipes. We do not know, however, if Acer will offer its card in the 16 and 8 GB versions.

We can, however, recall the configuration of the A770: this GPU uses the ACM-G10 graphics chip with 32 Xe-Cores, which translates into 4,096 stream processors at a frequency of 2.10 GHz. These are accompanied by 512 XMX units and have access to up to 16 GB of GDDR6 memory at a speed of 17.5 Gbps. With a 256-bit bus, we have a bandwidth of 560 GB/s. The advertised TDP is 225W, but beware, at Intel this TDP represents an average consumption. Note the two 8-pin PCIe ports on the edge to allow overclocking as well.

In terms of performance, the brand announces that it is competing with the NVIDIA RTX 3060 with Ray Tracing. More than ten days before seeing what to stick concretely. In the meantime, the MSRP price of the A770 is $329 for the 8 GB version et $349 for the 16 GB version.
