At least 127 people were killed during the riots and stampede at a football match in Malang in Indonesia, reports Archyde.com with reference to the police. Another 180 people were injured.
According to law enforcement, fans of the losing team broke onto the field. The police used tear gas, which led to a stampede and cases of suffocation.
According to information CNN Indonesia, clashes and crush occurred following the match between the teams “Arema” and “Persebaya”. The teams play in the top division of Indonesia (they rank ninth and tenth in the standings, respectively). According to the channel, two of the dead are police officers.
