Elon Musk unveiled a prototype humanoid robot called Optimus that will cost less than $20,000. This is reported TASS.
The invention was unveiled on Friday, September 30th at Tesla AI Day. The test version of the robot itself entered the stage and waved to the audience in the hall. Musk then showed a video of Optimus dragging a box and watering flowers.
“There is still a lot of work to be done to improve Optimus and test it <...> I think Optimus will be incredible in five or ten years, just stunning,” said Elon Musk at the presentation.
The robot will be stuffed with Tesla-designed components: a battery, a system of chips, actuators for controlling arms and legs, and an autopilot system that is used on Tesla electric vehicles.
Optimus will cost less than $20,000, Musk said. [робот] will cost much less than a car. I would say probably less than $20,000,” Musk concluded.
