Popular Front threat: Y category security for 5 RSS leaders in Kerala – RSS Leaders

New Delhi: The central government has decided to provide ‘Y category’ security to five RSS leaders in Kerala. The action was taken in view of the warning issued by the Central Investigation Agency, ANI. In the context of the ban on the Popular Front, there is a security threat to the RSS leaders in Kerala. In this situation, the Central Home Department has granted Y category security to five persons.

Apart from the NIA, the central government also took into account the information provided by the Intelligence Bureau (IB). All these five leaders will be provided security by 11 Central Army personnel each. Six of them are for personal security.

During the NIA’s raids on Popular Front offices and leaders’ homes in Kerala, details of five RSS leaders targeted by the Popular Front were obtained from the house of an activist named Muhammad Basheer.

The central government banned the Popular Front of India (PFI) and 8 affiliated organizations for 5 years. The action is under Section 3 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). Following this, the state government decided to close and seal the offices of Popular Front and related organizations in Kerala and freeze their bank accounts.
