Early Wednesday evening, a 49-year-old man threw himself out of the window of his apartment, located on the 4th floor of a building in Villejuif (Val-de-Marne), reports Le Parisien. He did not want to kill himself, quite the contrary: this father of two children jumped because his 14-year-old son threatened to attack his mother with a machete if he did not do it… Unbelievable.
At the time of the events, a neighbor had just alerted the caretaker of the building that a violent argument was in progress in this apartment. Too late to intervene. Once the man jumped, his wife – and mother of the teenager – rushed outside and was able to notify the rescuers.
The miraculous father
Firefighters quickly arrived on the scene. They found the father lying in the grass, at the foot of his building. Miraculously, he does not suffer serious injuries and his vital prognosis is not engaged. The fall was apparently slowed down by the vegetation. He was still hospitalized.
The police, also called, managed to convince the teenager to go to the lobby of the building. The weapon was found at the apartment.
Sources from Le Parisien evoke “a possible depression accompanied by other symptoms” to explain the anger of the teenager. An investigation was opened and a psychological expertise was to be carried out.
