One new addition to AirPods Pro 2 is that users can slide their fingers on the stem of the earbuds to adjust the volume, and in iOS 16.1 Beta, this function can be turned off if you don’t want to.

For controlling the AirPods Pro 2 headphones, users can slide their fingers up and down. To adjust the volume, press and hold the stem of the headphones to adjust the noise canceling mode. Play music, pause music, answer calls and hang up.

In iOS 16.1 Beta, Apple added a Volume Swipe menu to allow users to choose whether to enable the headphone stem scroll function to adjust the volume or not.

Volume Swipe is not available in the latest iOS 16.0.2. It will ship with iOS 16.1, which is expected to be released to users in October, along with iPadOS 16.1, macOS Ventura.

*AirPods Pro 2 are not yet available for sale as of the date of this release.
