Subdivision Ferrari Special Projects, created for the construction of special cars for individual orders, presented its next creation. This time, the customer was a longtime Ferrari client from Taiwan, who collects cars of this Italian brand. And the roadster turned out to be the object for alteration Ferrari 812 GTS with a front-mounted V12 engine.

The car under the Ferrari SP51 index was created by the forces of its own design center under the direction of Flavio Manzoni. The appearance of the roadster has been seriously redesigned: all external body panels have been created anew, and even the original headlights have been installed, and carbon fiber has been widely used for black inserts on the body. The new 20-inch wheels also have carbon fiber pads on each spoke.

There is no roof at all – neither hard nor soft. Engineers fine-tuned the unique car in a wind tunnel to reduce noise and air turbulence in the open cabin. A massive cross member installed behind the riders’ heads also works for this, which visually imitates a targa-type body.

Speaking regarding the design and concept of the car, the company this time does not draw parallels with the historical models of Ferrari. However, the coloring is still peeped from the racing Ferrari 410 S of 1955. The main color Rosso Passionale is used both for the bodywork and for the seat upholstery in Alcantara. And the blue and white stripes run not only along the body, but also through the interior.

Except for finishing materials, the interior of the Ferrari SP51 remained standard. And not a word was said regarding technical improvements. The donor roadster Ferrari 812 GTS had a naturally aspirated V12 6.5 engine (800 hp), a seven-speed “robot” with two clutches, rear-wheel drive and a fully controlled chassis. The price of a unique coupe is not named. As a rule, the final bill for such projects is several million euros, because the company must pay back not only the manufacture of the machine itself in a single copy, but also all design and engineering work.
