Release of a movie about the trial of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard 4 months after its end

Yesterday, Wednesday, the company released a trailer for the movie, which will bear the name “Hot Take: The Deep / Heard Trial”, and starring Marc Habka, who appears as deepand Megan Davis, who plays the Heard.

The one-minute trailer opens with a stellar arrival Hollywood To the courtroom on the first day of the trial, before moving on to different scenes of Depp and Heard, from their pre-divorce pasts, passing through isolated moments from the trial, to the interaction of the masses and the media with the case.

The film is scheduled to be released for free on the Tubi platform on Friday, and it is written by Guy Nicolucci and directed by Sarah Loman.

Depp sued Heard over an article she wrote for the Washington Post in December 2018, in which she described herself as a “public figure who represents domestic violence.”

Although Heard did not explicitly mention Johnny Depp’s name in what she wrote, the actor considered that the article tarnished his reputation and undermined his career, and demanded $50 million in damages.

The actress, who has appeared especially in the films “Aquaman” and “Justice League”, launched a counterattack, demanding her ex-husband to pay a double compensation of one hundred million dollars.

The trial was held in Fairfax County, Virginia, between last April and June, and the public followed it via live broadcast, and was divided between a supporter of Depp or Heard, which created a wide interaction with the case on social media platforms.

In his June 2 ruling, the judge ruled that Heard had defamed Deeb in three statements in her article published in the “Washington Post”, and obligated Heard to pay compensation of $10 million. At the same time, the judge concluded that the actress, in turn, was defamed by one of Depp’s lawyers, and awarded her $2 million in compensation.
