Soloveichik was elected President of the Judo Federation of the Russian Federation

The Presidium of the Russian Judo Federation unanimously chose Sergei Soloveichik as the president of the organization. He replaced Vasily Anisimov, who explained his departure by family circumstances.

Mr. Soloveichik is 57 years old. From 2007-2022 he was President of the European Judo Union. He left his position following the entry of Russian troops into Ukraine. He also served as vice president of the International Judo Federation.

Mr. Anisimov is 71 years old. He has headed the Russian Judo Federation since 2010. In 2012 at the Olympics in London, Russian judokas won the medal standings (three golds, one silver and one bronze), in 2016 at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro they won two gold and one bronze medals, in 2021 at the Olympics in Tokyo – Three bronze medals.
