(Archyde.com) – A new golf tour, the Liv Golf Invitational Series (LIV), is nearing a deal to buy broadcast slots from Fox, Golfweek reported.

Normally, TV stations pay for broadcasting rights for sports broadcasts, but in the case of LIV, like an advertiser, they pay FOX for the broadcast slots, and LIV is also responsible for acquiring advertisements during programs.

The unusual deal is believed to be due to constant criticism from fans and players for LIV’s support from Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund.
