This Wednesday, the Bachelor of Medicine from BUAPobtained for the fourth consecutive year the accreditation of the Mexican Council for the Accreditation of Medical Education (Comaem), making it one of the 91 medical schools in Mexico that have this accreditation.

Upon receiving this recognition, the rector Lilia Cedillo Ramírez highlighted the importance of evaluation and certification processes carried out by academic peers, as they represent opportunities for improvement and challenges, in addition to giving students peace of mind and certainty of a training supported by a quality curriculum:

“It opens the doors of hospitals and offers them opportunities in the country and abroad, it is It is a source of pride to know that we contribute to training good health professionalsin the hands of whom is the health of Mexicans and the life of a family is at stake,” he said.

For his part, the Technical and Operational Secretary of Comaempointed out that, “This accreditation benefits educational institutions, students, graduates and employers, but above all society, since a better quality in the medical education, better exercise of its professionals and better health care”.

Finally, Luis Guillermo Vázquez de Lara Cisneros, director of the Faculty of Medicine, thanked the collaborative workbecause this achievement is the result of a concerted exercise between the academic, administrative and student staff. “Without that coordination it would not have been possible”, said.

It is worth mentioning that this accreditation is valid for five years and guarantees compliance with the quality parameters, as a result of the evaluation by academic peers in organization, structure, operation, teaching-learning process and results, among other indicators examined.
