Already present on our screens with its HDMI keys (Fire TV), its boxes (Fire TV Cube) and its services (Prime Video), Amazon is launching its first television. This is the Amazon Fire TV Omni QLED.

La 1ere Smart TV QLED Amazon

As its name suggests, the Amazon Fire TV Omni QLED is equipped with a QLED panel – obviously 4K, we are in 2022 – with 96-zone backlighting. Without giving more details, Amazon nevertheless promises a wide range of colors and realistic and color-rich images.

In addition, it is the first television to be equipped with Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10 + Adaptive, two types of HDR which make it possible to adapt the brightness of the screen according to the ambient brightness of the room. It’s a good way to make the most of your content, whether bright or dark, without having to manually adjust the image according to the time of day.

It is obviously a Smart TV that we imagine running under the same OS as the Fire TV Cube. This not only gives him access to certain services (including Prime Video), but also to widgets. Handy if you want to take a quick look at your agenda or the weather.

Works like on The Frame

Samsung has understood this with The Frame: nobody likes having a black screen hanging on a wall in their living room. Amazon therefore copies its principle and offers a standby mode which displays images when the television is not in use.

Amazon Fire TV Omni QLED Series_Art Info

The Fire TV Omni QLED offers 1,500 photos and artwork, with the added ability to learn more regarding the displayed image by asking Alexa. We can also display our own photos there, and ask Alexa for a particular display (“show me pictures from our last vacation »).

Of course, let’s remember that with a backlit QLED screen, leaving your TV running non-stop is a very environmentally unfriendly luxury.

Cheap, but not in France

The prices of this Amazon Fire TV Omni QLED are very attractive. Count 800 dollars for the 65 inch model and 1100 dollars for the 75 inch. Unfortunately, only the United States and Canada are affected at this time. To see if a release in France is planned.
