The German manufacturer of mobile communication devices Gigaset has presented an outdoor smartphone. According to the manufacturer, the Gigaset GX6 is aimed both at home users who like to be outdoors and at people who work in harsh environments. The 5G-enabled device is dustproof and waterproof according to IP 68 and resistant according to the military standard MIL-STD-810H.
A Corning Gorilla Glass protects the 6.6-inch FHD+ display, which has a refresh rate of up to 120 Hertz, as the manufacturer writes. Thanks to a brightness of up to 550 nits, this display produces a clear display even in sunlight. The 50-megapixel dual camera with optical image stabilizer also takes good pictures even in poor lighting conditions – thanks to the 1/1.5-inch sensor with a pixel size of 1.008 micrometers.

Powerful processor, replaceable battery
The smartphone, powered by a Mediatek Dimensity 900 5G processor, is equipped with a 30-watt fast charging system. This allows the 5000mAh battery of the smartphone to be charged up to 90 percent in 60 minutes. However, a power supply unit is not included in the scope of delivery.
If the device does run out of juice, a separately available exchangeable battery can provide additional power. The battery can be replaced by the manufacturer himself.

The Gigaset GX6 will be available from October 2022 in Titanium Gray and Titanium Black from the manufacturer and from specialist retailers for CHF 579.
