One person = 8.3 million won’ went out of the national treasury due to corona labor costs… Less than half paid?

Reports following ‘Suspicious Contract of Travel Industry Chairman’
“Businesses charge more labor costs than workers paid”
Company, “Welfare expenses are included in the labor cost”
Requests for disclosure of specific usage contents are ‘rejected’

YTN recently reported that companies led by the president of the travel industry have won public projects worth more than 100 billion won in the form of private contracts during the corona crisis.

As a result of the coverage, it was revealed that companies paid workers much less than the labor cost charged to the state.

It is pointed out that if you falsely claim related labor costs during the corona crisis, it may be a case of embezzlement of the national treasury.

This is an exclusive report by reporter Kim Cheol-hee.

After the report of the travel agency president’s ‘suspicious number of contracts’ went out, YTN reporters followed reports of people who worked in related facilities.

One of them is Mr. A, who worked for regarding three months at the Life Treatment Center in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.

Person A claimed that the company charged more money to Yeongdeungpo-gu than it paid the workers.

Is this claim of Mr. A true?

This is Mr. A’s January salary stub.

It is stated that he received 3.72 million won including tax.

However, in the statement that the company made a claim to the Yeongdeungpo-gu Office at the same time, it was stated that they had requested regarding 91 million won for the monthly labor costs for 11 people.

About 8.3 million won per person, there is a difference of more than 4 million won between the actual payment and the claimed amount.

In response, the company explained that the claim was for labor costs, but it was because not only wages, but also welfare and bonuses were included.

These items are not on the statement billed by the business.

In response, a request was made to inform the specific usage details, but the company refused, saying, ‘It has never been disclosed to the local government.’

The ward office also replied that the company did not know where and how much money it had spent on labor costs, as it had never been reported.

This is not the only report on suspicious circumstances.

A person who quit his job made a paperwork as if he had worked, and charged the local government with a fee.

There are even testimonies that they saw an employee who worked only at the end of the month earning money by pretending to have worked for the entire month.

As it has been confirmed one following another that labor costs paid by the national treasury have been poorly managed, the voice for a prompt investigation is gaining strength.

In addition, it is pointed out that the overall accounting treatment should be carefully reviewed to see if it is true that various expenses used for facility operation, as well as labor costs, are used transparently.
