The ViewSonic brand has just announced the upcoming arrival of a new HDR 1400 certified curved gamer screen, a rarity on today’s market.
The Americans at ViewSonic have just announced the forthcoming marketing of the curved screen Elite XG341C-2K. A 34-inch mastodon designed for gaming, which promises to offer optimal and fluid gaming comfort.
A large and immersive gaming screen
The 34-inch XG341C-2K monitor, whose price and release date have yet to be revealed, will feature a resolution of 3440×1440 (UWQHD), at the fairly common 21:9 aspect ratio for a curved screen. Its curvature of 1500R, superior to the impressive Samsung Odyssey Arkshould offer total immersion in video games.
Featuring a VA panel equipped with mini LED lighting, the XG341C-2K screen offers a peak brightness of 720 cd/m2. Sufficient to obtain VESA Display HDR 1400 certification, which is quite rare on this type of device. This label means that the screen fully manages HDR content and can, in this kind of scenario, reach a brightness of 1400 cd / m2. To date, most gaming monitors on the market do not exceed 600 cd / m2 in HDR. On the color side, ViewSonic provides generous coverage of the DCI-P3 gamut, at more than 97%.
The screen has a maximum refresh rate of 200 Hz which guarantees very smooth images for competitive games if the technical specifications of the PC follow and allow it.
Comfort at all levels
This new monitor from the ViewSonic brand is equipped with numerous technologies, including AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, which synchronizes its frequency with that of the graphics card, thus limiting this cracking effect sometimes observed on screens.
Such fluidity is of particular interest when playing competitive multiplayer video games. These require an extremely fast reaction time, and the manufacturer promises us a latency floor of 1 ms, i.e. an almost instantaneous flow of information between the user’s interaction and the action in play.
The screen is also equipped with three USB 3.2 sockets, including a USB-C allowing you to charge your devices at 90W, two sockets HDMI 2.1 which also allow you to connect a game console, and a Display Port socket to connect your graphics card directly to the screen.
Finally, the shell of the screen offers fixings for the wire of the mouse as well as a hook to hang its headphones there. We said it, the price of the XG341C is not yet known. But given its specificities and the price of the most expensive monitor in the ViewSonic range, we should expect something well over €1,200.
