Game News The following Death Stranding is taking shape, Hideo Kojima continues his teasing for the Game Awards
This time, it seems to be for good! After months of rumors surrounding the collaboration with Xbox and the famous “Overdose”, Hideo Kojima begins to tease his studio’s next production, almost three years following the release of Death Stranding
Rumors, and an expected partnership
It has been many months since a project, named Overdose, would be in development on the side of Kojima Productions. It would be a horror game, potentially born on the ashes of Silent Hills. We would find there Margaret Qualley, who already played Mama in Death Stranding. The information came from Tom Henderson, who then indicated that the studio had requested the withdrawal of the articlewhich was obviously refused.
We were then on June 8 and, a few weeks earlier, Hideo Kojima’s assistant had published a photo of the game designer chatting remotely with Geoff Keighley. We understood that it was a work meeting since during the Summer Game Fest, Hideo Kojima briefly appeared on the screen to announce a partnership with Xbox with the aim of developing a whole new experience that will take advantage of the cloud gaming technologies developed at Microsoft.
The art of teasing at Hideo Kojima
But for a few weeks, things are getting clearer, gently, but they become clearer. On September 15, seemingly nothing, the official Kojima Productions website has been updated with an image very mysterious. It displays a hidden face, which seems to be that of Margaret Qualley, as well as the words “Who am I?” (Who am I ?). We won’t know more for a while, but the resemblance of the facial features to those of the actress suggest that we is in front of this project game called Overdose.
Obviously, this is only a hypothesis, the studio having announced nothing. It is even possible that we are in front of the teasing of thefollowing Death Stranding, since Norman Reedus mentioned the thing several times, visibly inadvertently (or not).
The Game Awards: the trend is for an announcement!
Even more recently, Hideo Kojima, always a fan of teasing and treasure hunts, published a photo on which we see him with Geoff Keighley on the Game Awards stage. In other words, the latter reproduces the teasing set up before the Summer Game Fest. It didn’t take more for all eyes are on The Game Awards, which will take place on December 8.
If you don’t know this event, it is an award ceremony, broadcast around the world, and which is also opportunity for publishers and developers to make announcements. We know that Geoff Keighley, former journalist and producer of the show, and Hideo Kojima are quite close. The Game Awards Producer even appears as an NPC in Death Stranding. On this Tuesday, September 27, 2022, it is once more towards the Game Awards that we are looking, since a new photo of the two friends was posted by Kojima:
It was so great to catch up tonight! Thanks for always giving me such good advice!

With Geoff. It was so great to see each other tonight! Thank you for always giving me such good advice!
A good way to maintain the idea that the next game from Kojima Productions will be presented during the ceremony. For the moment, we will remain at the level of teasing and hypothesis, but everything seems to be gradually set up for an announcement on December 8 next. We are monitoring all of this, and we hope for much more concrete things in a little over two months.
