AHMEDABAD: The Supreme Court has put an end to the uncertainty over Kerala’s volleyball team in the National Games. The Supreme Court dismissed the plea filed by the Kerala Volleyball Association challenging the High Court Division Bench’s decision to send a team selected by the Technical Committee of the State Sports Council to the National Games.
Kerala Olympic Association has given the list of players provided by the State Volleyball Association as Kerala’s official entry once morest the High Court Division Bench ruling earlier. A group of players protested once morest this. There was also criticism that sending inexperienced players to the Games would affect Kerala’s medal chances.
National players G.S. Akhil, Muthuswamy, Jerome Peter and state star Shaun T. John can participate in the Games with this. With this, Kerala’s medal chances increased.
