Tyler Toffoli has quickly become a crowd favorite in Montreal. The fact that he scored 28 goals in 52 games in his first year with the team definitely helped his cause.
The last season, however, was more difficult for the main interested party. His tally of nine goals and 17 assists in 37 games was somewhat disappointing, which resulted in the player finally being traded to the Flames a few weeks before the trade deadline. Because yes, it was mainly because of his performances that he left Montreal.
And, let’s say it hasn’t been better in Calgary.
Toffoli had a bit of a rough end to the season and was criticized in the playoffs. He didn’t play up to expectations… and let’s remember that the Flames paid dearly to acquire him.
But that is now a thing of the past. The former Canadian will have the chance to redeem himself and his coach, Darryl Sutter, gives him all the tools he needs to bounce back this year.
Sutter trusts him (coach bragged regarding it last week, criticizing Matthew Tkachuk in the process), so much so that the player is placed on the first line of the team along with Jonathan Huberdeau and Elias Lindholm.

When a scorer of the caliber of Toffoli is transferred to the first line with such good passers, we are entitled to expect a good season from him.
The ingredients are there for him to be successful and it will be up to him to show that he is still capable of producing offensively in the NHL.
Because the talent is there, we agree, since he has shown four times since the start of his career that he was able to score at least 20 goals in a season.
He has a golden chance to assert himself, un peu comme Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Caroline. The ball is in his court.
